I personally like a box blind style tree stand better than a ladder style stand. The main reason is because it hides your movement so the game can't see you near as easily. They are also good when it is raining and windy you can hunt without being miserable.

Sure was nice a few weeks ago to have a full blind. I watched 8 less than 50 yards from me without even a flinch.
They sensed something/someone was there, but couldn't figure out where I was.
I'd pic a full enclosure over open any day.
